Florida Bound | Golden Girls Dress Rehearsal

She may have scared me at first sitting there yelling at a fellow classmate on my first day at a new school threatening to slap the bejeezus out of him. I remember vividly taking a mental note: "STAY AWAY FROM HER!" That wasn't easy to do in our small classroom, and we never really figured out how to co-exist in our little world of 4th graders until the following summer when we were the only 9 year olds at a 4th of July family picnic down at Chalker Beach in Old Saybrook, CT. We had no choice but to join forces and almost instantly, we became fast friends best friends stealing fireworks from our cousin's bedroom, lighting them off in the street, diving into the ocean from the jetty, and playing on the beach past sunset where ultimately we watched the firework display and made fun of the "oohing and awing" of the crowd as we would every year thereafter.

Michelle, the Sonny to my Cher, the Flo to my Roger, the Bo to my Luke Duke - all just regular get ups we would dawn around town and on stage in high school. You can imagine what the boys thought of us - and if so - you can also imagine how little we cared! ; ) Well, she and I are off to Florida to celebrate our upcoming birthdays and to play out our high school dream of living the life of the Golden Girls together. Sure, it's a few decades early, but why not give it a whirl. Go crazy!

That said, I'm off and will return on the 25th! Til then!
