My Baby Bro

posted on: Wednesday, August 25, 2010

For those who are wondering, yes, this is indeed my baby brother. We are separated by 27 long years. What's funny is I remember vividly praying almost every night when I was about 8 years old for a kid brother. He came all the way from Connecticut to San Francisco for a two week visit. This morning, we sent him on his return flight home. Since our dad loves the water and boats, we thought this would be a great spot to take his portrait. Last night, the water was so calm along the bay, and the air was warm - the warmest night we've had all summer. This scene also happens to be where Shane would ride his bike daily, and where the three of us (my husband, Shane and I) would take an evening stroll after dinner. I'm beginning to choke up, so I'll end here and say how lucky I am to have a brother and a sister. We may live miles apart, but to joke and laugh with you is one of life's greatest gifts. Okay, maybe I meant to say, to tease and laugh at you is one of my favorite things to do... but I'm pretty sure that's what big sisters are for! : )

The Collier Family

posted on: Tuesday, August 10, 2010

What a great day with the Collier family! Rowena is one of those moms who is WAY organized booking her session months in advance, comes equipped with comb, outfits, handy wipes! And Matthew is growing into such a fine young man. Our last portrait session was two years ago. It's the coolest thing to watch him grow. His dad works super hard which means long hours, and I think you can see in these photos that Matthew is just overjoyed to have some quality one on one time together. This is the reward of doing what I do. I wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world!

Dave, Arturo and Family

posted on: Saturday, August 7, 2010

What better way to celebrate the overturn of prop 8 than with family pix of Dave, Arturo and his two foster children, one adopted son, and one brave 18 year old they took in this summer after he was kicked out of his home for inviting his boyfriend to prom. They are exemplary men and their kids are amazing, too.
